Description
The true story of the Roman Emperor Nero, from his birth at the court of his insane uncle Caligula to his accession to the throne at just sixteen, to his sad and lonely suicide at thirty. Nero is not the infamous monster history has come to portray, but a keen humanitarian, who fought for the rights of the common man and, in so doing, alienated himself from his own class. Bringing Nero to life in the style of a novel, Lissa Oliver digs beneath the negative propaganda created by those who despised him and uncovers an enthusiastic and passionate young man born into a world in which he never truly fitted.
